Kenny joined the South Carolina Highway Patrol in 1988 and rose through the ranks to the position of Colonel in 2009, in this position he was over the largest law enforcement agency in the State of South Carolina.  In 2010, he was appointed by Governor Nicky Haley to Interim Director of the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.  In this role, he conducted oversight of The South Carolina Highway Patrol, The Bureau of Protective Services, and the State Transport Police. 

Kenny retired from public service in 2011 and went to work with Securitas Security in 2012.  Over the past 9 years he again rose through the company to become the South Carolina Area Vice President. 

Kenny possesses a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from St. Leo University, is a graduate of both the FBI and DEA Training Academy, as well as the Southern Police Institute.
